The Eleusinian Mysteries by Baermer, prequel to The Peloponnesian War (see next.) Xena and Gabrielle travel to Eleusis at the request of a friend, and from there all heck breaks out. Excellent writing by one of the very good bards we are blessed with.
The Peloponnesian War by Baermer. Amidst the drama of the historic war between rivals Athens and Sparta, Xena and Gabrielle become enbroiled in the political struggles in Athens, find themselves at odds with a deadly and very determined goddess, and must, as always, rely on one another to survive. This epic runs into four parts: Book I: Precursors
(Chapter 1-5,
Chapter 6-11,
Chapter 12-16,
Book II: Poteidaia Under Siege
(Chapter 17-23,
Chapter 24-30,
Chapter 31-42),
Book III: The Mytilene Debate
(Chapter 37-42,
Chapter 43-49,
Chapter 50-55,
Chapter 44-46,
Chapter 47-49),
Book IV: The Battle of Amphipolis
(Chapter 56-62,
Chapter 63-69,
Chapter 70-76,
Chapter 77-83, and
Chapter 84-90.)
Assassin, Oracle, Bard by Bat Morda.
Part I and
Part II. An old enemy of the Warrior Princess sends an assassin named Raven with an uncanny resemblance to someone very, very close to Xena. Meanwhile, a beautiful oracle is having troubling visions involving three women whose lives are linked together. One of the three women will die, but which one? A complex story well worth reading.
The Adventures of Janice and Mel - Bat Morda. The Über stories of our favorite adventurers.
Book I: Is There A Doctor On The Dig?
(Part I,
Part II),
Book II: The Search For Amphipolis
(Part One,
Part Two,
Part Three.) Based upon the characters from Xena Scrolls, Mel Pappas and Janice Covington, our characters are involved in searching for archeological clues to Xena and Gabrielle...of course, there is also danger, Über-Callisto, and sex afoot!
Cupid's Arrow by BlackFox.
(Ch. 1-2,
Ch. 3). Aphrodite and Cupid make some romantic trouble for the Warrior Princess and her bard.
One Clear Voice by Blackfox.
(Ch. 1-2,
Ch. 3-4,
Ch. 5-6,
Ch. 7-8,
Ch. 9-11,
Ch.12-Conclusion). When an amnesiac Xena returns to her evil ways - joining forces with the warlord she was supposed to be fighting, Gabrielle does the only thing she can to try to get close to her friend - she joins their army as a bard and then starts planning a way to get HER Xena back.
Two and a Half Year Itch by BlackFox and S. Derkings. Set two and a half years after Xena and Gabrielle first meet, the warrior and bard are desperately in love with one another but too stubborn and scared to admit it so Aphrodite's mischievous son Anteros decides to teach the two a lesson. (Humorous)
Oubliette by R. Bornstein. Xena and Gabrielle aid a monarch whose kingdom is being threatened by a vicious warlord - a man who was once part of Xena's army and who has a score to settle with the Warrior Princess.
Two Hearts, One Whole by Jamie Boughen. Certain that Xena will never fully respect her as a simple bard, Gabrielle gives in to her anger and depression, accepting Ares' offer to gift her with the skills of a warrior. In doing so, however, she falls right into the god's trap for it is not a mere warrior that he intends to make of her - but a vicious warlord in the very mold of the Warrior Princess he once treasured.
Three Gabrielle Tales by Charmer. Humorous tales to put you in a good mood.
Comparing Notes. Gabrielle has a bit too much to drink with Hercules and Iolaus, and Xena becomes the topic of conversation. Oops!
Turning Tables. Gabrielle gets some unexpected help in her goal to give Xena a 'new' experience.
Winning Smiles. Xena and Gabrielle are on their way to a festival Hercules and Salmoneous have organized to raise funds for a charity. Gabrielle has her hands full keeping the Warrior Princess from murdering pigs and kids while trying to get her to 'participate' in the fun.
That Damned Kiss by
Danae. While waiting for their appointment with a psychologist, a very confused and somewhat frustrated Xena and Gabby try to figure out exactly WHAT type of relationship they are supposed to be having. Hilarious skit that also pokes gentle fun at contrasts between the TV series and alt fiction.
Heart of a Warlord by Patricia Ennis.
(Part 1,
Part 2,
Part 3,
Part 4,
Part 5,
Part 6,
Part 7, and
Epilogue). A beautiful, first-time story with Xena and Gabrielle struggling to come to terms with the feelings between them even as their relationship is threatened by an ambitious warrior determined to win the heart of the Amazon princess.
Poetic Justice by Vada Foster. Xena and Gabrielle travel to the island of Lesbos and meet Sappho. While there, Xena and Gabrielle discover their love for each other.
The Exchange by Galloway. Callisto and Xena in an alternate reality in which Callisto is a hero and Xena never attacked Cirra.
Her Gabrielle: A Response by Rebecca Hall. A continuation of Della Street's Her Gabrielle. Xena tries to help Gabrielle deal with the anguish and fear branded in her soul after years of slavery.
Mind's Eye by Lynka. Xena tries to protect Gabrielle from a very frightening threat...but falls victim to a deadly enemy herself.
The Promise by Maureen McGowan. No sex, but lots of love and angst make this a winner in my book.
Mothers by B.L. Miller. An Amazon warrior who doesn't think Gabrielle is fit to be queen kidnaps the mothers of both Xena and Gabrielle. It's all part of her plan to force Gabrielle to meet her in battle without interference from the Warrior Princess.
Ulysses Revisited by B.L. Miller. Heart-broken after seeing Xena fall for Ulysses and unable to continue hiding her true feelings, Gabrielle decides to remove herself from Xena's life. Xena, devastated, is forced to confront her own feelings for the bard.
Foreign Influences by Oversoul.
(Ch. 1,
Ch. 2,
Ch. 3,
Ch. 4,
Ch. 5,
Ch. 6). A romantic epic in which Xena and Gabby finally admit their feelings for one another and then join forces with two friends from the Far East and the goddess Athena to fight Ares. (A work in progress.)
Forget Everything by Quest. A "what if" story which explores what life might have been like for Gabrielle had Callisto never killed Perdicus. Set five years after the marriage, Xena comes back into the bard's life at a time when they both desperately need each other.
Urgent by Quest. An embarrassing moment leads to an interesting discovery for Xena and Gabrielle. (Humorous)
The Tavernkeeper's Sister by Ella Quince. A young barmaid becomes intrigued by a dark warrior, an enigma with icy-blue eyes who appears one day at her brother's tavern.
20 Ways To Get Rid Of Joxer by PatR.
(Part 1-10,
Part 11-20). Hilarious series of vignettes for those of us who don't have a sympathetic bone in our bodies for Joxer.
The Further Adventures of Janice and Mel: The Aegis by Rachel2.
(Chapter 1-3,
Chapter 4-6,
Chapter 7-End). This riveting story revolves around the legend of The Aegis - Zeus' great shield, strong enough to stop even a thunderbolt from the King of the Gods. In ancient Greece, Xena and Gabrielle become reluctant pawns in a deadly game between immortals for the right to wield the shield. Eons later, in a time beset by war and ripe with danger, Mel and Janice will continue their ancestors' struggle as they search for the mythical shield and also confront their own unresolved issues.
The Further Adventures of Janice and Mel: The House on Redmond Hill by Rachel2.
(Chapter 1-5,
Chapter 6-9,
Chapter 10,
Chapter 11-End).
Another great story, this time Janice and Mel are on vacation at a haunted house where, unknown to them, there's a mystery to solve.
A Time Of Vengeance by sHaYcH. Set right after the episode Ulysses, Xena and Gabrielle are sailing home when suddenly Poseidon steps into the picture; his subsequent actions prompt other Olympians to pay him a visit and suddenly the warrior and her bard have again become pawns of the gods.
Bargain Hunting by Della Street. Xena goes to see a slaver about a new girl he has for sale - a little spitfire with red-gold hair who hails from the land of Potideia. (Humorous)
Happily Ever After by Della Street. Xena and Gabby have finally done the deed! They have MARRIED...Hercules and Iolus. The couples are very happy, only it seems they are constantly being separated by urgent missions to far away places! (Humorous)
Her Gabrielle by Della Street. Based upon the episode Remember Nothing, Xena remains in this alternative timeline with a very different Gabrielle whom she has rescued from slavery.
Resistance by Della Street.
(Part 1,
Part 2,
Part 3.)
Based upon a description of the HTLJ episode Armageddon Now, Part II. Gabrielle and Xena in an alternate reality. Sex plus "bad Xena" to the max...with a little sly humor to liven things even more!
Sacrifice by Della Street. A very dark, emotional piece in which a devastated Gabrielle must make a terrible choice, with Xena's soul in the balance.
The Test Of Time - Taz. Angst, passion and Callisto, what more do I need to say?
Tendre's Parody Page by Tedre. I couldn't make up my mind that any one was better than the other because they're ALL good!
The Wrath of the Gods by WarriorRep. Takes up after the episode A Necessary Evil with Velasca and Callisto playing their customary parts in this very passionate story.
Behind Cold Eyes by WarriorRep. Another action-packed and passionate story, sequel to The Wrath of the Gods; Xena and Gabrielle gain an unlikely ally in the fight against Velaska.
The Best Laid Plans by Whosays. Xena's jealous streak is spoiling some 'plans' she and Gabrielle have made. (Humorous)
Restoration by Whosays. Xena can't understand what is happening when Gabrielle suddenly cannot bear her touch and seems to be sinking deeper and deeper into despair. What she doesn't know is that Gabrielle is struggling against an evil that threatens to destroy them both.
Just Another
Dead Warlord by WordWarior. Xena tells Gabrielle a grim story from her warrior past while they relax in a peaceful glade. An interesting contrast with a slightly shocking finale.
Wordwarior's Trilogy
(Truth Or Dare,
The Child, and
The Empty Heart.) In the first story, Xena and Gabrielle are trapped in a cave after a landslide. Xena and Gabrielle struggle to find a way out but this is just the beginning of a greater struggle. In the second, Xena and Gabrielle discover a Norse child Ilsa, survivor of a gruesome tragedy, and make a journey to reunite the child with her tribe. In the final story, Xena is emotionally drained by the loss of little Ilsa and trying to deal also with the repercussions of a promise she made to a foreign god. It is a story of guilt, regret and revenge all pitted against the powers of love.
Counterpart by XenaSupreme. Callisto joins forces with another deadly enemy of the Warrior Princess and the pair try supernatural means to destroy Xena and Gabrielle.
