AXS, for those who have the ability to configure and run CGIs on your server, is a freeware script that records visits to your web page and processes those records into meaningful graphs and database listings. The scripts tell you where visitors are coming from, charts their flow through your site, and tells you which links they follow when leaving. In addition, it records their server name, IP address, type of web browser, and time of visit.

You put this link in your own home page and now you have a real live interactive database application as part of your site. Applications available include a bulletin board, an interactive calendar, a photo gallery, banner advertising, and password site security. It's another way to add CGI applications to a site that is restricted to flat HTML files only. Setup is $20 per application; monthly fees vary from $15-$20.

Web Ring - a totally free service of the Internet community. The Webring is a way to group together sites with similar content (or any pages at all, if one so desires) by linking them together in a circular fashion: a ring. When you join a Webring, the HTML code on your homepage never changes. Links point to a special CGI script at webring.org that will send people to the next (or previous) site in the ring. Because the central ring database is located in one location, sites can be added and removed quickly and easily, and because the Webring CGI allows you to continue past sites that are unreachable, you will always be able to continue around the loop. The Webring system supports the operation of a virtually unlimited number of separate and distinct rings, allowing the creation of hundreds--even thousands--of different "communities" on the web.
