In addition to a substantial institutional business, Merril Lynch is known for its worldwide offices serving the needs of small and medium sized investors.
First Technology Stock Industry Specialist at Merrill Lynch
I was the first Industry Specialist in Technology Stocks at Merrill Lynch. I was responsible for overseeing a small group of 5 analysts with responsibilites to follow about 100 high tech companies as to the investment merit of their stock. In this position, I visited with the senior management of many important companies in the emerging industries of semiconductors and precision instruments; and aerospace companies. I prepared industry reports and recommended stocks to be purchased by Merrill Lynch clients. At that time these reports were distributed to a wide network of branch offices all around the U.S. and the world. I traveled extensively to visit the management of the high tech firms and the institutional clients of the regional institutional branch offices.
Prolific writer of highly successful reports
My larger industry studies and reports were published in attractive brochure style bindings and distributed in quantities of 50,000 or more. I was told that one of my major studies had the largest print run of any product ever produced by the research department at Merrill Lynch. Some examples of these major industry reports are:
