    Brief Biography:

    Stephen Day* (1733-1802), is the son of Joseph Day (1695-1774) and Hannah Sargeant. Stephen Day became a prominent citizen of New Jersey during the revolutionary era. He became known as Stephen Day, Esq. He had a substantial estate and lived in a large home. During and after the revolution, he and his wives took in and raised many children who were orphaned by the war.
