    • m2. Edward Waldo (1684-1767), after Dec. 13, 1757, son of John Waldo and Rebecca Adams.

    • m1. Ruth Carver (1701-1731), on Mar. 2, 1720/21, daughter of David Carver and Ruth Whitmarsh. Solomon and Ruth had 6 children.

    • m1. William Baker (Jr.)(1708/9-1735), on Apr. 27, 1730, at Canterbury. He was the son of William Baker and Rebecca Backus
    • m2. Joshua Paine (1697-1775), on Jan 6, 1736/7, at Canterbury. He was the son of Thomas Paine and Hannah Shaw. Joshua and Constance were 1st. cousins to each other and had 6 children.
  • Hannah Paine; b. ___?; d. ___? received by the Canterbury Church, Aug. 6, 1721 (at age 15?).
    • m. ___? Watts, after Jan. 15, 1729/30 (according to a Paine genealogy)
  • John Paine; b. July 12, 1707, Canterbury CT; d. May 18, 1753, at Southold, Suffolk County NY, by an accidental shooting by Richard Howser who thought he was shooting a deer.
    • m. Sarah Church (1713-a1756) on Feb. 12, 1729/30, at Canterbury. She is the daughter of Samuel Church and Elizabeth (Burr) Clark. They had 5 children.

Brief Biography:

John Doane (c1635-1708) was born in the Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts. John died on Mar 15, 1708/9, in Eastham, Barnstable, MA, at 72 years of age. He married twice. He married Hannah Bangs in Eastham, Barnstable, MA on Apr 30, 1662. He married Rebecca Pettee on Jan 14, 1694.

Hannah Bangs* (c1644-a1667) is the daughter of Edward Bangs* (c1592-1678) and Rebecca Hobart*. Edward Bangs was a shipwright who was born in Chichester, Sussex County, England, and emigrated to the Plymouth Colony on the ship Anne in 1623 and died at Eastham, Barnstable County, MA.

Note: 41st and 43rd U.S. Presidents, George Herbert Walker Bush, and George Walker Bush are descended from Edward Bangs and Rebecca Hobart, through their son, Capt. Jonathan Bangs (1650-1710/1), a brother of Hannah Bangs* (c1644-a1667). See the Bangs Family Page.
