Brief Biography
Olive Weems was described by Douglas Andes Weems (see references below) as: "The 'flower' of the Weems type of this [sic: her] generation".
Olive's mother, Jennie (Crandal) Weems was the sister of a Mrs. Ferguson, whose husband was a partner in the firm of Ferguson and Schnack, jewelers of Alexandria, LA.
Olive's parents moved to Texas and engaged in cattle ranching after they were married and it is likely that Olive was born in Texas, however, since she was the youngest of 6 children, It is possible that she was born in New Iberia, LA, after her parents returned from Texas to New Iberia.
