John Adams; b. Feb. 8, 1690/1, Braintree (now Quincy) MA; d. May 25, 1761, in Braintree. He is also known as Deacon John Adams.
m. Susanna Boylston (1708/9-1797); b. Mar. 5, 1708/9, Brookline MA; d. Apr. 17, 1797, in Quincy MA; on Oct. 31, 1734. She is the daughter of Peter Boylston and Ann White.
John and Susanna had 3 sons:
John Adams (1735-1826), became the 2nd. President of the United States.
m. Abigail Smith (1744-1818), daughter of Rev. William Smith and Elizabeth Quincy. John and Elizabeth had 5 children.
Peter Boylston Adams; b. Oct. 16, 1738.
Elihu Adams; b. May 29, 1741.
Brief Biography:
John Adams (1690/1-1761) lived all his life in Braintree MA. His residence was at 143 Franklin Street. He was a cordwainer and farmer who accumulated some wealth and was able to educate his children. His is often known as Deacon John Adams, probably to distinguish him from his illustrious son, President John Adams.
