- m1. Lydia Penniman; bap. Feb. 22, 1634/5, Boston MA, daughter of James Penniman and Lydia Eliot. She d. Mar. 3, 1675/6. Edward and Lydia had 14 children, many of whom died in early infancy. Speculation indicates that Edward and Lydia had incompatible blood types.

Brief Biography:
Edward Adams (1629-1716) was born at Kingweston, Somersetshire, England and emigrated with his parents to Braintree MA in 1638. He married Lydia Penniman in Boston in about 1652. On May 3, 1654, he and his step-father, John Fussell, were admitted as Freemen of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. In 1654, he and his wife settled in Medford MA where their children were born.
Edward Adams was appointed an Ensign of the Medfield Company in 1689, and served as a representative to the MA General Court in 1689, 692, and 1702.
