• m. Breckje Hansen Bergen in about 1659 in New Amsterdam. Breckje was christened on July 27, 1642 at the New Amsterdam Dutch Reformed Church.
• Aert and Breckje had children:
  • Theunis Aertsen Middagh; chr. Feb 22, 1660; d. young
  • Theunis Aertsen Middagh; chr. Mar 25, 1661; d. 1681 in Heicoop, Holland.
  • Jan Aertsen Middagh; b. Dec. 12, 1664; d. c1740
    • m. Geertje Theunisse Claerwater and had 9 children.
  • Gerritt Aertsen Middagh; b. c1671; d. before Sep. 21, 1710
    • m. Cornelia Janse Van Couwenhoven on Sep. 25, 1691 and had 4 children.
  • Dirck Aertsen Middagh; b. before 1671; d. before May 5, 1716
    • m. Catalyntje Pieterse Van Neste (1672-___?) in about 1690
  • Anna Aerstsen Middagh; b. before 1673
    • m. Abraham Remsen (1667-1752) in about 1693, and had at least 5 children.
  • Joris Aertse Middagh; b. before Oct. 27, 1674; d. after Dec. 7, 1730.
    • m. Marrietje Martissen Ysselstyn (1673-c1727) on Apr. 22, 1696 in Marbletown, Ulster County NY, and had 9 children.

Brief Biography:

Aert mady another trip to Holland in 1671 with his family, including his brothers and brother-in-law to settle his father's estate. He and his family remained in Holland until 1683, living in the Hei-en Boeicop area. His wife Breckje died along with one of his children during this visit. In Mar. 1683 he returned to New Amsterdam (which by this time was New York) with his children and spent the rest of his life in New York.
