Anyone who drives has observed over the last few years many gas stations putting in new modern pumps which count gas in 1/1000 of a gallon. I have
done some calculations. A car that gets 20 miles per gallon goes 20 x 5280 feet or 105,600 feet on one gallon of gas. That means that every time that far right number on the new gas pumps moves 1 digit you get enough gas to move your car 105.6 feet. Now aren't you glad those gas stations put in those new pumps ( at what must have been great expense ) so the customer can watch the far right digit move so fast and create the illusion of getting more gas?
