This photo features Duane Allman who was, and still is in some circles, considered the greatest guitar talent of the rock n roll era. Like many icons of the 60's and early 70's who met an untimely death ( Allman was reportedly killed in a motorcycle accident in the early 1970's ) the longevity of his appeal is at least in some part due to the fact that all memories and photos are of him in the flower of his youth. Thus he, like the Kennedys, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin etc., never grew old, either physically or in the collective consciousness of the general public. As to why the photographer chose this picture of Allman playing his guitar in a bathroom, it is open to many different interpetations, depending on your point of view.
