Whether you love him or hate him there is no denying the impact that Muhammad Ali has had on all of our lives here in the United States and throughout the world. In his prime Ali was one of those people who reveled in being the center of the storm. Rare is the man who talked as big as him who has the ability and, just as importantly, the opportunity to back it up. As an icon of the sixties Ali was a perfect fit for his times. From his outrageous antics to his colossal boasting to his pop culture rhyming Ali kept us all entertained while trumpeting his political agenda. His has definitely been a glorious life.
The image above is Ali haranguing Sonny Liston to get up after knocking him down in the first round of a championship fight in Lewiston, Maine. This is the most famous picture in boxing history, perhaps in sports history, and is one of the most recalled images of the 1960s.

I was somewhat disappointed with the content of the Muhammad Ali web sites but some of them are worth looking at. I leave it to the readers to surf them for themselves.
