PARTICIPANTS IN VISUALOG 3
ARTERNATIVES
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIFORNIA, USA
10-10 TO 11-11, 1990
Kaldron 21/22 seems a good place to start from in this archive. By 1990 most serious visual poets in the U.S. practiced mail art at least part of the time, as a means of distributing work that was ruthlessly excluded from magazines and anthologies, and as a means of escaping some of the strictures (standard size; no color, etc.) of those zines and presses that printed visual poetry. And by 1990 mail art had become truly global, practiced by people living in right and left wing dictatorships as a means of thwarting censors, and connecting with other poets and artists in other places. The Visualog 3 show was hosted by Arternatives, who also funded Kaldron 21/22. Arternatives also funds the current Kaldron Wall project where many future exhibits will be shown before their documentation appears at this site.In succeeding years we worked together on several Shadows Projects and other shows, but what started as a discussion of the possibilities of Kaldron in print has finally appeared as Kaldron On-Line.
