Features of the IR-Opflow
:

IR-Opflow

  • Manufactured in PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride)
  • Measuring range: 0.1-120 L/min. (depending on the model chosen)
  • Accuracy: ± 1% or ± 3% of the measured value (depending on the series selected)
  • Repeatability:  ± 0.1% of the measured value
  • Patented design and lightweight rotor provide friction free rotational movement and minimize wear
  • Easily mounts in any position
  • No flow corrections required

The Operating Principal of the IR-Opflow Sensor:

The IR-Opflow Sensor is a volumetric flow meter.  The sensor consists of the following components:
  • a sensor housing which includes:
    • a patented flow corrector with a screw shaped interior (1)
    • a lightweight rotor with three blades  (2)
    • and a optoelectric infrared detector (3) with integrated preamplifier

IR-Opflow Sensor

During the process, the incoming liquid is forced into a twisting motion by the spiraling surfaces of the inflow section.  The flow of liquid causes the rotor to rotate virtually free of friction.  This provides a large measurement range and causes minimum wear.  Each time they rotate, the blades of the rotor interrupt the beam of infrared light.  This generates a series of pulses with which the flow can be measured extremely accurately.

As an example, the smallest IR-Opflow meter generates 36,000 pulses per 1,000 cc.  The built-in signal amplifier provides a square wave pulse output.

The IR-Opflow Sensor is also available without a signal amplifier.  The flowmeter in this version has a sinusoidal output signal.  The patented turbine design prevents air or gas bubbles from becoming trapped in the measuring chamber.  This is essential to the IR-Opflow flow meter's exceptional accuracy.   The precision of the IR-Opflow within the measuring range is not influenced by either pressure differences or varying or pulsating liquid flows.
