and member of the American Watchmakers' Institute (AWI)

Remember the large cast brass Chelsea clocks from the 1920's through 1940's? They were heavy, made of the finest materials and they made a statement. They were often owned by famous people of the day such as General Eisenhower, Admiral Nimitz and President Roosevelt. Chelsea has brought back the large clocks but these are even better than the clocks of yesteryear.
Each Chelsea Grand clock case is made of the highest grade of forged brass. This produces a finish which far exceeds that of the cast brass clocks of the past. In addition, forging the brass allows the case to resonate with a rich and mellow tone which must be heard to be appreciated. No attention to detail or expense has been spared in the construction of this clock case. From its impressive brass hinge to the bezel release button, this is top quality throughout.
Add to the incredible case the venerable Chelsea striking movement with precision jeweled escapement, gold plated gears and the finest hand craftsmanship throughout and these are the finest clocks on earth. Period. No amount of money can buy a better clock which will endure for generations.
All clocks in the Grand Collection feature 8.5" dials and 10.5" outer cases. Each is available with or without the solid, handcrafted mahogany display base shown in the photos. Each carries a five year parts and labor warranty.
