JJ's Paul Williams Tribute Page Hi, my name is JJ. Paul Williams is my favorite male vocalist. Why? It's the incredible emotional content of his songs, lyrics that just touch me so much, and the the beautiful sincerity with which he sings the songs. I love to listen to him singing the same songs that I love by the Carpenters. "Ordinary Fool", "I Won't Last a Day Without You", "Rainy Days and Mondays" "We've Only Just Begun" and "Let Me Be the One" are examples, but I also love many of his songs that have never received recognition. I often think that Karen Carpenter could have sung many more of his songs. Here are a few examples of lyrics that I really love.. Soul Rest You and I wake up slowly The world outside moves fast And the crowds eat away At a run-a-round day And they treat it like it was their last You and I we wish them well Let the restless roam You and I'll stay home And get us some soul rest Minds and bodies rhyme Your touch is priceless I am blessed We are lovers I am blessed.... Gone Forever Gone forever Now gone but not forgotten How could I forget the likes of you Just the sight of you could make imaginations fly Just to think about you almost makes me cry 'Cause you were something to remember Warm and lovely like the sun Every morning still reminds me Brings a tear that nearly blinds me One more day to live through One more day of living without you..... That's Enough for Me If I can make you smile If I can move you close to laughter with a word or two When your day's been filled with strangers And the castles that you've built all tumbled down Ah well, that's enough for me That's all the hero I need be I smile to think of you and me You and I And how our pleasure makes you cry...... We Were There!!! July 29, 2006 Falcon Theatre Burbank, CA " Correct-a-mundo, indeed! The "Days" devoted should find plenty that's familiar while at the same time appreciating the 21st-century edge and sensibility…Marshall simultaneously celebrates and tweaks his iconic characters…Williams deomonstrates a flare for songs that are both tuneful and capable of plot advancement… and Choreographer Randy Skinner by no means restricts his dancers to sock hops. The show is, well, very cool." -Daily News (Click here to read the review.) RECOMMENDED! " A true labor of love for (HAPPY DAYS' creator) Marshall, who also shrewdly directs, and comes at a time when a walk down memory lane is just what the doctor ordered." -Metro LA "A song-and-dance extravaganza…the vocal arrangements are fantastic and the choreography is exhilarating!" -The Burbank Leader "This is a crowd pleasing, nostalgic and very funny lark, suitable for the whole family." -The Tolucan Times Happy Days are here again… Yes they are!! I was able to see the show in Burbank on Saturday, July 29, with my sweet husband, Ron, and two of my best friends, Mariam and Rosanne. We all loved the show, every song, the choreography, casting, and costuming, and an amazing added bonus!! We were able to meet Paul and his beautiful wife Mariana, who also introduced us to Garry Marshall, one of my all time favorite directors. Ron and I have long been fans of musical theatre, and have held regular season tickets to both the Arizona Theatre Company Productions, as well as the Grady Gammage theatre presentations, dramatic and musical. We both felt that this production of Happy Days was right up there with the finest musical theatre we have seen anywhere. It is our hope that the musical Happy Days will tour the country and then find it's place on a New York Broadway stage. We congratulate Paul and Garry for a 5-star production, and appreciate their taking the time to visit with us! Paul has always been so good to his fans, and our time with him and Mariana was precious to us. We love you Paulie!!
