MORE STORIES

OK, so you wanted more Fraction stories. There are a few I can go into, including some of the most bizarre things that have happened at places that we are playing. Also, there are stories about Robbo's band, Oz's band, double decker, and Spal, as well as famous gigs, such as at the Olde Time Junction (where we were almost shot by a group of mushroom pickers that were fighting and did not speak English, but who mopped the floor in the middle of one of our songs for free beer, because someone had kicked the urinal out of the wall in the bathroom, and there was a waterfall of urinal water rushing onto the dance floor from the Men's room), different biker bars in Delaware (Pagans and Warlocks), and of course, Fezstock, and GlenStock, and the after-Glenstock parties at the Berwyn Tavern, and the poker games at Binni & Flynn's,...but we will save those for a night when we've had one or two too many. Here's a quick bio on everyone in the band: Jeff Domenick - Guitar player, singer, spiritual leader and Zen master of the band, through his deep meditation rituals on stage, he inspires the other members of the band to say things like "wake up Jeff!", or "what the hell are you doing?" He has mastered the art of talking to members of the audience, while playing guitar, singing, spilling a drink, and forgetting the words to a song, all at the same time. Dresses well, but doesn't wear underwear or socks - says it's too restricting to his free lifestyle. Also, does not eat meat, except late at night when he shares a bowl of Fancy Feast with the cat, and his wife still can't figure out how the cat can eat so much cat food! Paul Spiegel - You either can't get Paul to talk, or you can't get him to shut up. Thinks he's being funny while other people in the room are hoping to be hit on the head by a heavy object to knock them senseless - thinks because he slept at Holiday Inn Express, ate at Subway, and can play lead guitar a little bit, that he can get away with anything, and can boss people around. Plays slide guitar too, but who really cares about slide guitar? Is hoping to learn something that will change the world, or that is at least just a little bit useful sometime in the next decade. Says inappropriate things into the microphone, over the phone, on web sites he designs, and especially in e-mails, when he is less inhibited. Richard Reinert - Richard, bass player, is the solid foundation for the band, and he is not built on sand. Sounds like he has been playing bass guitar all his life, but actually just picked it up 6 years ago when he was kidnapped and forced to play bass riffs for his food by his captors for nearly 6 months. Has recently started to sing, and even more recently, to sing loud enough for us to hear him. The next step is to get him to sing the actual song that the rest of us are playing. Does not play well after meals, so we don't feed him until after the gig each night - is in therapy over this, but so far, no progress with anything except his fear of green bananas and nematodes. Rick Antonini - The newest member of the Fraction, Rick would play his drums all night if you let him, and would let the ends of some songs go on forever if we didn't occasionally break a bottle of Rolling Rock over his head. Always happy and cheerful, except when he's mad, sad, scared, tense, or worried. Has been arrested for killing a pig with his car, after hitting a whole group of pigs on the way home from a gig (you can ask him the story, it's too long to tell here). Has also hit deer, squirrels, rabbits, mice, and baby seals on his way home from playing - Hint: get safely home before Rick leaves the bar, especially if you are a poor defenseless animal!! Steve Trice - Steve plays the acoustic guitar, and the other acoustic guitar, and sings so hard sometimes that his hair falls out. Occasionally sprays Diet Coke out of his nose during Rick's stories about his after-gig adventures, and also sometimes sprays ketchup (and sometimes catsup) all over his family in restaurants, which is why the band never tells him which diner we are going to after each show. Has two left feet, but that's OK, because one of them is right. Greg Decker - Plays keyboards for the band, and at every show, he wears a keyboard scarf, keyboard shoes, a keyboard shirt, and a keyboard hat, and has a keyboard tattooed to his tongue. Good thing he doesn't play banjo, or all that keyboard stuff might look a little silly. Has 47 pets at home, some of whom also play keyboards, and one of which crawled into his grand piano and had kittens (they now call it his "baby grand"). Yells at Jeff a lot, but only does it to give him "tough love".
The links below are to songs that the Fraction performed last year when the band was recorded live by Road Trip Mobile Recording (www.rtrecording.com) at the Blarney Stone in West Chester- we'll rotate some different songs in and out of this link over the next few months...(or not...)
