The student section of the American Society of Safety Engineers at Slippery Rock University has been in existance for thirteen years, and has an active roster of 80 members. Once a month the chapter holds a meeting at the school which includes a presentation by a guest speaker and a report submitted by each of the section officers.
Slippery Rock University has offered a major in Safety & Environmental Management since 1983. The program is a multi-disipline study of safety management as it applies to different industries. Instruction in all aspects of the major is provided by a four member faculty.
