Frantisek Vysa was born on January 20, 1853 in Chocni, Bohemia, Austria. He married Anna Bures before 1874 in Bohemia, Austria. Together they had eight children; Marie, Ruzena, Blazena, Emma, Marie, Frantisek, Anna and Henrietta. On May 23, 1888 he arrived in New York, NY on the "Westernland". He was made a US citizen on November 20, 1893 in the Superior Court of Cook County. Throughout his life he worked various jobs; carpenter, painter, cabinet maker, finisher, tailor and milkman. He died on July 26, 1909 in Chicago from cirrhosis of the liver. He was buried on July 29, 1909 at Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago.
