I ordered a new Quantex 300MHz notebook last Christmas for my wife afterreading a few articles on the Internet and talking to a few people whoowned them. Unfortunately, I didn't read any articles related to thecompany's customer support. In October of this year the hard drive inmy wife's notebook crashed. This was after my wife had already orderedten new Quantex desktop computers. My wife called Quantex and opened upa RMA for replacement on October 18th, 1999. Quantex customer servicetold her they would get the drive out ASAP. After a month went by shetold me of the problems she was having trying to get the replacement. Ibegan calling Quantex myself. Now it is December and I still have notreceived the replacement hard drive. In addition Quantex took over amonth to ship the ten new machines my wife bought for her business andshe still hasn't received all of the parts.

I bought a tower and a notebook for myself back in May of 98, plus another tower for a friend. The friend's hard drive developed hard errors after about 6 months. Quantex replaced it immediately. The replacement drive came preloaded with Win95 and the drivers that were appropriate for the machine's configuration. I had to correct an error with the sound driver, but otherwise it worked like a charm.Recently, my notebook's battery developed a problem. Again, Quantex replaced it immediately. I have a couple of other friends who bought from them and are happy. I would buy from them again.

I bought a Pentium Pro 200 system from them. I was very happy with the price and the service. My only problem so far was many bad sectors showing up on my fujisu hard drive. They shipped me a new drive with Win 95 installed. I popped it in the computer, and was up and running in no time. I would buy from them again

Even though the 2 other people I know who had Quantexes told me not to buy from them, I did anyway. My mistake. The order took a week longer than I was told, but no big deal. Then when I get it, there was a problem with the modem lagging like you wouldnt believe. I was told that they only guarantee it will connect and there was nothing they would do for me. It was really unusable. Then my video card simply would not go into 32 bit mode. Just like my first call to tech support, i was on hold over an hour and a half only to be told, "I dont know what to tell you." This is the kind of tech support you get in your first 30 days, while you can still send it back (I did - Id hate to have something serious break with that kind of support), so imagine how bad you get treated when your 30 day return period is up. The other 2 people I know also had horrendous problems with tech support. Their systems are cheap, but you get what you pay for.

I am very pleased with the Quantex systemI bought. I even received a $50 rebatewhen the price of the computer I bought went down within the 30 day time frame(after I called them first).

My initial contact with Quantex left me wanting. I attempted to get through to Customer Service on 30 separate occasionsusing telephone, fax and e-mail...... no response whatever I got through on the phone but never had my problem regarding paperworkcustoms needed dealt with. I was living in Bermuda and so communication via the 800 numbers was not free. The response from technical support however was excellent. I was so impressed that I asked if there was someone I could write toexpress my satisfaction. They gave me the address for the company president. I took the oportunity to talk about the good and bad experience I had received. I was contacted by Don Neske who was assistant to the Vice President and things improved dramatically.Since talking directly to Don I have been very satisfied with all aspects of service.I had a 180mhz Pentium Pro. I clocked the chip to 200mhz and it's worked fine. I havehad to have a number of replacement parts:4 monitors1 new modem (up to 33.6 from 28.8)1 new motherboard (slow system clock)1 new CD ROM drive (due to motherboard change)All shipped to Bermuda at no charge to me(although I think this was exceptional service - not to be expected)I would recommend Quantex and I am looking to buy a Pentium II 300 when I go back to the UK in November.

I ordered a Q5/SM-2 P133 MHz Pentium system from them. It was delivered ON TIME - they use FedEx by the way... Quantex includes a quick set-up guide which is easy to follow and I had no trouble getting the computer up and running. I needed to call their tech support a couple of times and I got varying answers to the same question which didn't thrill me but in the end I understood what they were trying to tell me. For those of you who need to use more than one serial port simultaneously, I recommend getting an external modem since the motherboard is hardwired to use the serial outs in pairs with only 2 common interrupts which cannot be changed. Had I known that I would have ordered an external modem instead of the internal unit. Overall I am very satisfied with this system and would recommend it to anyone.

The PC came a week earlier than promised and was easy to setup. Everything worked the first time except I had to re-install WordPerfect Main files and True-Type fonts in order to view the 15 special character sets. This information I obtained from Novell's internet location under technical references for PerfectOffice.

Great product for the money, shipped before promised. Recommended same to friend who just bought a better system for less! Better, meaning larger HD, EDO, pipeline burst, 6x CD. Highly recommend this company for new and/or intermediate users.

It took 4 weeks to recieve my system,but this was within the timeframe quoted when I placed my order. I've been using the system for 2 weeks and haven't had any problems. I spent a month researching mail order companies and couldn't find a better system for the price.

Ordered a P-90 system...great deal. They said it would ship out 2 1/2 weeks from the date ordered and it actually shipped out a couple of days early! Everything worked right out of the box and salespeople very friendly!! I would highly recommend them!
