I bought a motherboard from them that didn't work. I sent it back for a replacement or repair, they returned it a few weeks later without doing any work on it. I sent it back, because it still didn't work. I spent countless hours trying to reach tech support but never did. When they tried to return it again, I refused to accept shipment and worked through Visa to get my money back. Avoid at all costs. It appears these people haven't gotten any better over the years. Thank God for Tiger Direct, whose motherboard worked fine.
9/95Ordered motherboard and was told it was in stock. Was supposedly shipped. I contacted them to let them know I did not receive it. They told me it was not in stock and other peoplewere in line before me to receive one when in stock. Got credit card bill...CHARGEDFOR MOTHERBOARD. Called...called...called...called...faxed...faxed...called...etc.Threatened them via fax and finally received call. They said it would be shipped in 2 weeks.NOT RECEIVED...AGAIN. Called and forced delivery for Saturday delivery right beforeChristmas at their cost. Finally got motherboard. The motherboard has been a GREAT one though (for $3000, it better be!!!!!)However, it was not worth the trouble and they practice business very poorly.A credit card should NEVER under any circumstances be charged before delivery has been made!

Ordered Motherboard and Video Card on 10 January. On 17 January, they charged my credit card for the items (over $900 worth). I have never received this order, and MICROMAX has not answered their phone for the past month.

Purchased twice from this company (MicroMax Virginia). The first time bought a SuperMicro motherboard, 75MHz Pentium and 16M Ram, but failed to work. Returned no problems. Tried again and this time bought Intel Zappa with P100 and 16M ram. Major problems installing Win95, would not install. Called Intel, only to be pointed to Microsoft. Finally replaced EVERY! board CDROM, video card, harddrive but problem still existed. Finally borrowed some memory from a friend and Hey Presto everything worked. Downloaded a freeware util from Compuserve to test memory and found that the memory had "bit rot". Called Intel and asked why and was pointed to tech bulletin stating that gold plated SIMMs should NOT! be used with motherboard. Guess what I had gold plated SIMMs. Call MicroMax tech support and explained this and was met with hostility. Sent Intel doc but I have been completly ignored. Cancelled payment from my Credit Card only to have MicroMax dispute claim with "memory pass 5 hour burn in therefore must be OK". Guess again!! During this time bought memory from another supplier and have had no system problems. DO NOT buy anything from MicroMax as they do not believe anything you say after they ship!!!

Ordered case, 3.5" disk drive, keyboard and SCSI adapter. I have been trying to reach these guys for a week - they won't answer the phone. Message on machine says to call back during "regular" business hours. I am trying to find out what has happed to my order - still haven't received anything. The charged my card on 1/25/96. Called one of their retail outlets. Salesman said distribution company has been sold. I asked him where does this leave me. He said call the credit card company. DO NOT under any circumstances order from these guys. A plague on them all. I hope they end up in jail. I'm going to do my best to make sure this happens...

Ordered p75 motherboard. It came 3 weeks later with wrong (486) cpu fan. Three weeks later, it died. When i called to get a return authorization, they claimed by warranty was void because i installed a cpu fan (purchased locally). Called again two days later to try again, got ok to send it back, told it would take a week to ten days. Started calling two weeks later, and HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO CONTACT THEM. i wish the plague on them.

I was looking for the lowest price on a P-150MHz Super Micro MB w/ Pipeline Burst Cache 256K. To my delightment I found it at Micro Max. The Salesperson (Rich @ EXT. 234) was exceptionally helpful and answered all of my questions. I aslo got a great deal on the full tower case that I ordered. That was last Wednesday the 24th of Jan. It is now the 3rd of Feb. The orders were supposed to be shipped 2nd day air. RIGHT! Rich also told me that there would be a week delay to get the board into the inventory and that he would call me on Wed. the 31st. As expected no call came. I began to worry and Iv'e been trying to call them back eversince. All I get is a voice-mail that there normal buisness hours are from 9am to 9pm EST. Well I know I'm 3 hours behind living in Wash. State, so if I call at noon it will be 3pm there. NO ANSWER!! I've tried every phone line that they have, even their shipment line (which is unlisted) (804)-431-8086, still no avail. Still trying I faxed them (at least this line worked) twice. The first one was a nice fax, the second one was a "Get off your duff and call me or I'm taking you off of my credit-card fax!!". They didn't even call me back after that. I tried looking for an E-mail address for the bozos and found this WWW- Site instead. That was the clencher folks! I called AMEX and told them to deop the ax on the payment. I guess you can say that from long waits on the phone and wearing out my buttons trying to get ahold of the LOSERS, I've had enough!!!!! I've lodged a formal complaint with the Better Buisness Bureau in Virginia. The # is 1-(804)-627-5651, I hope you do the same. Thank goodness that I didn't share the unfortunate fate that the other good people on this "Buyer Beware" page experienced. I only wished I had know these facts before I had ordered!! Thank You, Walt Perry, Wperry@Seanet.com / 70473,3663@Compuserve.com

Weeks of delay, unknowledgable tech support, rude tech support, long waits to speak with anyone, defective products; this is what I found in my first and only dealing with these guys. I bought the parts for a 486 dx280 system (their Optima motherboard) and after 3 months and purchasing parts from a local computer store, I had a working computer. The motherboard seems to have a chipset problem. It doesn't like to display graphics and let anything use interrupts at the same time. I tried 4 different video cards, 4 different sound cards, 3 different HD controllers, and multitudes of DMA and int. settings only to be told, rudely, that it was my fault, my problem, and tough ****. DON'T give these guys any money.

I ordered a motherboard that they said had a one week lead time. Three weeks later we attempted to contact them. Getting ahold of my point of contact took 4 days. He said that he didn't know when the item would be available. When I did the research for this purchase I was told that the item was in stock. Help improve the business world and put these jerks out of business.

I bought a P90. After recieving it with bad RAM, I returned the RAM. I never heard from them again. After trying to get a rep on the phone for 2 CONTINUOUS months, I spoke to a VISA rep who eventually got my money back for me. I got a free P90 out of it but it was still NOT WORTH THE HASSLE!
