The company made great PC's but they have abandoned their customers no tech support, no way to contact them, no way to get driver updates, they owe us and ran and hid.

I accidentally toasted my Cybermax P166 Motherboard with static electricity. I was advised to package the PC and send it back to them at their expense. Final results...Motherboard replaced, no questions asked, computer back on my desk in 5 days! NOT BAD. I will definitely buy CyberMax again.

There was small snafu in processing my order but when Cybermax realized theyscrewed-up they were very accomodating in rectifying the problem. I was upgraded on the hard-drive, CPU and video-board memoryand the system came on-time (on-time the second time). The system itself took all of 10 minutes to set-up and worked out of the box.Tech-support was also good. Would definitely buy again.

My order was about a week late. They said it wasfrom a shortage of AMD K6 233 MHZ chips.Plausible. I had to re-seat the vidio and modem cards, but I knew that was a problem with cybermaxPCs. However, I am very pleased. Great machine, greatdeal, great price. This thing SCREAMS!

I have absolutely no complaints about the quality of the hardward and the software packages thrown in. All good stuff and name brand. The worst part of my experience with CyberMax has been their phone system. They've had snow storms, floods, phone line outages, and general growing pains as they've moved into larger facilities during the last month. I have seen a slight improvement in being able to get them on the phone or at least to leave a voicemail message during the last six weeks. My opinion is that they should dump the voicemail/business phone system they are now using. It gives a poor impression to potential buyers and contributes to their bad reputation for responsiveness. My advice to anyone who is trying to call them and is frustrated is to use their fax number and follow up with an email to one of the addresses posted in their web page. Another bummer is their technical support. But this is no surprise. If you want great technical support, don't buy the lowest price deal you can get and expect stellar technical help. Nothing in life is truly free. On the positive side I see an attempt to try to do business in an honest and professional manner. Charges always matched what they shipped. They went first class on shipping and used either overnight or 2nd day Fed-X for everything. Whenever they made a mistake, they fixed it at their expense. Whenever they substituted for what I thought I was getting, I got better hardware or software than what should have arrived. In my case, I thought I was getting a MAG DX17F and the DX1795 arrived. It has better specs. I thought I would get the Aztech CDROM and a Funai arrives. It has better specs. I thought I would get a Western Digital 1.6GB and they sent a Conner. When I called them to tell them I was dissappointed they immediately offered to send me the WD, no hassle and no arguments. The missing TAXCUT95 software is to be replaced with a copy of Quicken and an $8.95 coupon good for the tax option to Quicken (TurboTax ?). BOTTOM LINE: I would recommend CyberMax to my friends, provided they fit the profile of someone who would not need constant contact with tech support. I feel that I was lied to in order to make the sale. Specifically, when I ordered my system, I said that I would buy it if they upgraded the sound system (Salesperson: TONYR). Later (a week after I was told), I received my system without the sound upgrade. I was told that I never ordered it. I know that this is a lie, because I had confirmed my order with another department shortly after I ordered it. I will never do business with CyberMax again, and I would strongly urge anyone else to think hard before they do either.

I ordered my system, Pentium 120 Executive, at the end of Nov. 95 and Sales lines were jammed. However, because of the great value I persisited and finaly ordered my system from them. I had been comparing prices and features for about 2 months prior and CYBERMAX was the best value I could find. I had to call tech. support once concerning missing MPEG player software that was advertized with the STB powergraph 64 video card. When I finally got through, I talked to their answering machine and left a message. Two days later, they called and informed me that STB vendor was having software problems with the MPEG player and would be providing it within the next couple of weeks. That was around Christmas. I've checked CYBERMAX's BBS for the software, but its not there. I contacted STB directly and they informed me that there were no problems and the Xing MPEG player has been shipped with the video cards for the past several months. The said I should check with CYBERMAX. I send a FAX to CYBERMAX that include STB e-mail response and I am currently awaiting a response. Besides the problems with contacting a human at CYBERMAX and the MPEG player software, I would have to say I am very satisified with the value of the product I have purchased from them. Would I buy from them again? I decline to answer until the MPEG problem is resolved.

I ordered a CyberMax Executive 586 Nov. 1st 1995. Was told that it would take 3 weeks for delivery, I kept in touch and followed up through their frequently "overheated" 1-800 number (a direct # to the sales person) A week before delivery I was told that they were delayed and it would take an extra week, so delivery would take place in the 1st week of December. Again I called in the beginning of that week and was told that the system would ship on friday Dec. 8th. That happened and because of the delay CyberMax gave me overnight shipping, so I had it Monday the 12th. FedEx however missed a box of speakers (they came the next day). Anyway the system worked 100% out of the box, it took 10 minutes to assemble and has been a very positive experience. My only complaint is the delays in delivery! And that you really have to be in constant contact with the sales consultant applying pressure! However, I do not think that it is a unique situation comparing with other companies and product delivery methods! Sincerely, Martin B. Mortensen martinbm@quicklink.com

Major Delays and lies from employees on expected delivery dates and reasons for lates shipment Required almost 30+ days for shipment of their top end system System would not boot Win 95 on delivery Required almost 1 week for technical support to call. All attempts to call support would eventually bounce me into voice mail after long waits. Required almost one week for conversation with human in support.

MINOR Problem: Experienced Jun, 0015

On expected date of delivery, I called and was told that due to a shortage of motherboards, the system would be delayed 1.5 weeks (the initial delivery time was scheduled for 7-9 bus. days). However, the system arrived less then a week later. It was missing speakers and even though I called late in the day to inform them of this (no problem getting through), the speakers arrived 2 days later. Definitely a _minor_ hassle, IMO. I heartily recommend them otherwise.
