Carlos Austin Photography is proud to present you Monique & Cecil getting married in June of 1997!

throughout your travels in life. This proved to be true in the case

of Cecil and Monique. Both had attended their long time mutual

friends' annual Labor Day party for multiple years and never truly

met. Then, at the festivities on Austin's Sixth Street in 1991, they

finally bumped into each other and something began to click! The

conversation flowed, all of the 'little things' looked right and

laughter and smiles were abundant.

After a First Date with his children, Daneen and David, at Astroworld

and a Second Date on the beach, they knew that they could stand to

spend some time together. That was 5 1/2 years ago! The relationship

has endured long distances and different cities (including a 6 month

stint for Monique in London); a great deal of evaluation by family

and friends (those Cajuns and Greens can be brutal-HA); and the

associated holidays, weddings, funerals and births that come with

life. He confirmed that "Yes, I CAN dance" and she showed that she

could fit into a large family AND remember all of the names. Their

lives together up to this point have allowed them to travel to such

varied locations as Reno/Lake Tahoe, Florida, San Francisco/Napa, San

Diego, London and Paris. They have attended the weddings of his

brother, Blake, to Gwen and her sister, Denise, to Scott. They have

had the privilege of seeing the happiness that marriage has brought to

these couples and their many other friends that have "taken the plunge".

On Christmas Morning 1995 at Connie and Jerry's house in La Porte,

Monique discovered an extra present hidden in the back of the trash

from the other gifts. Nestled inside was a ring! She immediately

began to cry and wanted to know what this meant. Cecil said "I want

to spend the rest of my life with you". She agreed and the whole

thing was captured on video. They got the added pleasure of going to

a second Christmas celebration with the Rita, Cecil, Sr. and the rest

of the family that afternoon. Again, the announcement was a surprise

with tears of joy and exclamations of "It's about time!".

Due to their love of the beach, they are to be Married with their toes

in the sand and the surf in their ears at Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

This date to remember will be in early June with 30 close friends and

family members in attendance. The whole crew will then return to

Austin for a Reception and party with ALL THOSE wonderful people that

have been an important part of their lives up to now and onward.

Sharing the past 5 plus years with a person who is a friend,

confidant, lover and partner has been something that neither Cecil or

Monique will ever forget. Yet, it cannot begin to rate in comparison

to the Excitement and Wonder in getting to do JUST THAT for as long as

you both shall live!
