Nivomat shocks used on some later 700 Volvos for self-leveling are very expensive to replace. An alternative is to replace the rear springs and install KYB Gas Adjust shocks at aprox 1/2 the cost of the nivomats

How to tell if I have a "ZF" or "Cam" style steering rack
The boot on the left has a large opening where the steering rod goes out to the wheel, this type is used by "ZF". There is a rubber plug about the size of a "fifty cent piece" that the rod goes thru. The boot for the"Cam" style rack on the right has an opening that is much smaller, about the size of a dime.
The top steering rod is a "Cam" style and the bottom rod with the rubber plug is a "ZF" steering rod
