Where I am:
I am presently living in Providence
Rhode Island,
not a real Island
, just that small state in the Northeastern corner of USA, The 13th Colony to be factual.
I live in a wonderful city surrounded by 5 Institutions of Higher Learning..
. Providence College... Rhode Island College...
Johnston & Wales University... The Rhode Island School of Design...
and Brown University.
This all makes for a lot of party's during the school year and peaceful
summers when they all go home. This influx of young people in September
of each year is a boom to the Cities ecomony and a thrill to sit back and
watch...ahh, to be young, starting out on a great adventure and have daddy
footing the bills still!
My brief PC history:
Well, I started off on my good oldTandy 1000RL, 286, about 4 years ago under the instruction of a
sometimes friendly machine wizard, *Rohno the Great*.
I _Thank_ him for his time and guidance... I'll try to repay him for all
he's done someday.
I now surf with an Acer Computer 2.5 gigs, but always seem to go back to
my good old shell account and telnet.
It has been a time of trial and error..*LOTS OF ERRORS*, but I have made
it this far, so who knows what this old gal will be up to next!

to our great City. A big **THANK YOU** also to the people of

I was born in Rhode Island many years ago, lets skip this part...bah..blah, at the age of 4, I moved to the fine state of Virginia. We settled in the city of Chesapeake, the fentress area, a quiet farming community surrounded by the intercoastal waterway, "trying to get out of that area during the busy boating months is a horror", and my stepfather to this day is a Drawbridge Attendent there.
I graduated fromGreat Bridge High by the skin of my teeth.
I lived in the state for lovers about 12 yrs, until one beautiful summer night, while on vacation to visit family, I met and fell for a Rhode Island boy named John.. We married in the spring of 73'.
Our time in the Air Force took us to Rantoul AFB/TS.Illinois and Columbus AFB/ATC. in Mississippi, and these were I must say, the best years in my memory. Lots of tennis and Coors, fresh from Texas, stored in the belly of a jets. They say Virginia is for Lovers, well Mississippi is for the laid back, not a care in the world kinda folk. No high blood pressure there!
Hmmmmmmm!
From there it is a fast moving fog...work, children,life...
As I age, byte by byte, I am starting to look around and feel pride
in all this Country Girl has accomplished. "Thank you", all my family and
friends for making my life a wonderful, exciting place to be.
It is now the Spring of 1998.... time does sure fly.
It is the year of El Nino.. the weather is great, sunshine and cool
night breezes. I've planted my flowers and mowed the grass a
few times, next the vegetables go into the earth and wait for the
dogs to pee all over them, so I just look and NOT eat.
The children are in baseball, Samantha is a catcher.. ekk!
Matthew is less frighten of the ball this year and doesn't duck
at every pitch, only the close ones! I keep telling him that's the time
to hit the ball, not the dirt!
That's it for now... see ya soon!
Thanks for the time you took to absorb a little of Ruby and Her
Kingdom... I wish you all a fond farewell and a pleasant Day!
