NGC 7023 - The Iris Nebula
An area of reflection nebulosity illuminated by a very youthful (<5000 yr old) Herbig Be star (HD 200775).

  • Date: 7-29-03 L and 8-23-03 RGB


The same situation existed here as for the NGC 5907 shot. NGC 7023 did not come into position until such time as it was not possible to shoot a full RGB color set. So, I decided to hammer out a few more luminance frames instead. Come August, conditions permitted the addition of the color data.
