The curse of the midwestern states can be seen here in the form of skyglow from various sources and the clouds moving in from the west didn't help matters either in the first shot. The second image was shot at a later date using identical equipment and a Kodak Royal Gold 1000 emulsion with the camera lens set to f/4 for 5 minutes. The image was processed in Photoshop using a median cut to reduce the grain and de-accentuate the stars to emphasize the dust lanes and structure.
