We have had some nice
weekends of running during the month of January.
Started the New Year
off with our run at George and Emily Lordi's house. As promised, it was a tad
less hilly and yours truly did not get lost!
We even had Dick and
Pam Helmer, Dick Celler, Bill Walsh and Mark Nyhan persevere during the
"snow storm" which only sabotaged driving to the Saturday AM run!
Sunday January 14th,
Mecca and I traveled down to Houston, Texas to watch the Olympic Trials in the
Marathon. We had the perfect viewing area and saw the field 4 times! It was so
exciting and we could cheer for our NJ Kathleen Castles! The next day, we ran
thru Houston on a different course but finished on the same course!
The Annual Meeting
will be held at the Madison Community Center at 7PM on Feb. 2nd. George Grosso is
coordinating the Jersey Shore Relay. Mecca Cerny will be bringing sign-up sheets
for other relays.
Since we had no snow
until last weekend and it is gone again, the NO ICE CONTEST has been suspended.
Marathon training
still continues.
