This recording continues Sir Charles Mackerras's outstanding traversal of the Savoy Operas for Telarc. The Third and Fourth Yeomen's couplets are included in the Act I finale, but the text is otherwise standard. The one disappointment is Richard Suart as Jack Point, who billows and blusters but misses many of the notes in the process. All the other roles are capably covered.
