New York Academy of Medicine
HealthLessons.org
Designed a database driven site that launched in February 2006. Designed the site's navigational hierarchy, created pages for registration, search, search results, user review of lessons, and site favorites. Project managed the branding and design of the site and evaluated design concepts through user testing.

Worked with web staff to improve site usability and integrate new functionality with existing sites.
New Jersey Smart Choices: Designed easy-to-use interface for new data base of funding sources.

WNYC Radio
WNYC.org Mini Sites

Designed and developed mini-sites for special on-air programming. Developed look and feel, created prototypes in Photoshop, coded HTML pages, wrote style sheets, refined navigation, created pallet and graphics including animated GIFs, Flash animations and edited photos.

9/11 Anniversary
Created a collage with images of New York City, the Woolworth Building and the Twin Towers. Images and layered fragments, like scraps of memory, set the tone for this mini site.
WNYC.org Membership Fundraisers
Worked with Membership Department and WNYC's Platform Developer to create a web presence for the fundraising drives.
Planned strategic placement of membership content and links on the home page, edited marketing copy, conceptualized and made animated graphical banners, update membership content and thank you gifts, photographed the gifts, created pages for special offers like giveaways and auctions.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
2006 Web Manager, Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism

Worked on launch of FatWire Content Management System (CMS) and launch of site re-branding/re-design.
Responsibilities included:
• Worked with FatWire consultant and the in-house IT team to integrate the new front-end design and new site architecture with the FatWire system of assets and templates. Advocated preserving the integrity of the graphic design as we assigned existing site content to new templates.
• Reviewed site architecture; created Viso site maps for each section of the site. Consulted with stake-holders to gain approval as the work progressed. Rebuilt each section of the site with revised architecture.
• Worked with stake holders to develop new site features such as search-able database for job postings.
• Worked with stake holders to update content, improve clarity and usability of online presentation.
• Migrated new and existing site content into the FatWire CMS.
• Tested functionality of the CMS and the web site. As the quality assurance engineer, created bug list, documented issues in the FatWire system and worked closely with the in-house web developer to track solutions for bugs. On the front-end tested links, checked for consistent naming conventions for page titles and navigation, checked for consistent graphical display across templates.
• Graphical work: shot, edited, re-sized and optimized photos, created icons for the site; designed new pages to accommodate new templates.
• Supervised part-time work/study assistants.
• Lead FatWire training sessions for school staff. Wrote users' guide explaining FatWire CMS interface and functionality with how-to instructions.

2005-06: Web Designer/Front End Developer, New York Academy of Medicine
Developed a new website, HealthLessons.org, a database-driven site for teachers. Responsibilities included: designing user interface; web graphics; navigation and branding. Worked with the HealthLessons.org project committee, the website programmer, the Director of Information Management and test users.
• Designed site for usability and clarity with a pleasing look and feel.
• Developed information architecture with strong visual cues for easy navigation.

• Designed interface for user rating of lesson plans and submission of candidate lesson plans.

• Designed mini-sites for special programming: coordinated with departments' staff and the director of Interactive Media Department to determine needs and scope of project. • Designed new features for the site and modified existing elements: sub-navigation for individual site sections; slide show template; Clickability tools; blogs; treatment for featured information spotlights; calendar navigation for archived audio.
• Trained new content producers as the Interactive Department staff increased.

WNYC has achieved a higher rate of online giving than any other public radio station. May 2004 fundraising drive, 35% of all pledges were made online ($403,900 of $1.2 million).

Occasional lecturing at the college level about collage: photo collage, Dadaist collage and hands-on collage making.

1995-1997: Website Designer Exhibition Developer, Children's Museum of Manhattan
• Website Designer/Webmaster Redesigned and built museum's website. Developed a fun and child-friendly look for the web pages incorporating drawings and photographs. Shot digital photographs of kids in the museum for the website.
• Exhibition Developer Seuss! Project manager for exhibition based on Dr. Seuss' books. Coordinated construction, working with museum staff, curator, exhibition designers, mural painter and four fabrication teams.
Just Off Broadway Participated in design and conception of kid-sized exhibition about New York City. Curated and produced gallery display of Harvey Wang's portrait photographs.
Researched photo presentation/mounting methods for child-safe gallery display.

1991-1995: Exhibition Developer and Interpreter, Staten Island Children's Museum
• Led production team that built interactive science-based traveling exhibition Wonder Water. Produced photographic elements of the exhibition including: photo research, photo editing, supervised laboratory printing and mounting of photographs and mural prints.
• Co-authored teaching manual exploring photo journalism, It's News To Me.
• Led interpretive workshops for children, teaching through hands-on crafts projects in the exhibits.
