An Inconvenient Truth, Sunday, Oct. 8

You’ve heard the rave reviews about this movie on global warming featuring former vice president, Al Gore. View the movie= free of charge on Sunday Octo= ber 8^th, 6:00 p.m., in the Woodside Road United Methodist Church Sanctuary. This viewing is supported by the Regeneration Project and sponsored by the J= oint FCCRC-WRUMC Youth Group. The youth will serve refreshments before the movie.

Such Joy!

The joy we experienced in worship and fellowship with Igl= esia Apostolica on Sunday, October 1 surpassed our dreams. The energy and good Spirit were everywhere. There was no end to the kudos - "When can we= do this again??" We will be planning joint worship again, perhaps around the holiday season. Muchissimas g= racias – many thanks – to all who helped make it a wonderful day, especially Peggy Smullin, Naomi Kuhn, Wes Umeda, John Lehrack, and musici= ans and kitchen helpers beyond number.

Pastor Carol and MIT Bob Visit UCC National Office

Pastor Carol and minister-in-training Bob Lawrence were i= nvited to our United Church of Christ national office in = Cleveland, OH<= /st1:place>, Oct 6-8. Since 1996, Pastor Carol has served on the local planning team f= or the Western Region Seminarians’ Event. This year, the UCC brought t= he seminarians to Cleveland to be inspired by our leaders and their ministries. Bob is one of 24 stud= ents attending from Pacific School of Religion, joining others from S.F. Theological Seminary, Claremont, Iliff (= Denver), Seattle University and ot= her western region schools.

24th Annual Chocolate Fest, Oct. 13-15

Makers of chocolate confections from throughout the Bay A= rea will offer their wares for tasting at the 24th annual Chocolate Fest on Friday, Oct. 13, 7:30-10 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 14, 1:30-4 and 7:30-10 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 15, 1:30-4 p.m. at the Congregational Church of Belmont,= 751 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont. Pre-sold tickets are available online for $17.50 for the afternoon sessions, $22.50 for the evening sessions. Ticke= ts are $20 afternoons and $25 evenings at the door.
