Spiritual Growth Ministry

First Congregational Church fosters lifelong spiritual growth for adults through study, discussion, and spiritual practice. We find relevant guidance through Bible scholarship for life in the 21st century, without the need to interpret the ancient scriptures of our cherished Christian heritage literally. We listen for the voice of our "Still Speaking" God, in the works of contemporary scholars, in the insights of our partners in study, and in the stillness of contemplative spiritual practices. Groups are small and responsive to participants' needs, exploring a wide range of issues that concern progressive Christians today.

Children and Youth Ministry

Children of all ages are welcomed into Christian fellowship at First Congregational Church. Children attend the regular worship service with their families through Family Time. Children are then welcomed to go to church school where they learn about the Bible and the Christian faith through active involvement—games, crafts, drama, and music. Infant and toddler care is provided during worship services and special events.

First Congregational Church Youth Fellowship Group ministers to the social, spiritual, and intellectual needs of our youth. Overnights, camps, conferences, trips, service projects, and parties positively channel the high energy of our young people. A Confirmation Class is offered periodically for youth eighth grade and above who wish to confirm their baptism by becoming full members of the Church.

Worship and Music Ministry

Church staff and members collaborate to create worship celebrations at First Congregational Church. Individual worshippers are invited to share their joys and concerns in group prayer at each Sunday's service. Musicians, singers, and music lovers are invited to bring musical inspiration to worship services with the FCCRC band or choir.

Comfort Ministry

Members of First Congregational Church minister to one another in times of sorrow, concern, and joy, visiting hospital patients and shut-ins, and supporting families in bereavement or crisis.

Outreach Ministry

First Congregational Church offers many ways throughout the year to support others in our church, our community, and our world:
