Carshalton

The Stream House, Carshalton

WHW moved to Carshalton in 1862. His family first lived in West Street, but the house was demolished in the building of Carshalton railway station. He then moved to what he called The Stream House (above - also known as Honeywood and Wandle Cottage). The Friends of Honeywood Museum web site contains detailed information about the house's history.

He then built his own house at 19 Park Hill. It was designed by a pupil of Philip Webb.
