FIVE CONCERTS AND A LANDSCAPE

is a follow-up to our "Live at Orfeo" CD on Zinnia Records. This music is a compendium of some of our favorite material recorded during a period spanning three years (October 1992 through November 1995) from concerts in the New York metropolitan area.

In order to capture the spontaneity that's usually sacrified in studio recordings, we continue to prefer releasing our live material. These recordings, like our "Live at Orfeo" CD, are recorded as naturally as possible, rendering what we feel is an accurate portrayal of the music played at these five concerts.

As for the music, except for Miles Davis' "Little Willie Leaps" and our "The Dean's List," all the selections have the harmonies of jazz standards which continue to provide both challenges and inspiration.

The Landscape is by Annette Bluth-Lukemire, to whom we dedicate this CD.
