This gig was being held up in Readington, NJ at the Solberg airport; a balloon festival sponsored by QuickChek and Q104 classic rock radio station out of NYC. Liz and I drove up Sunday morning...the psudoscience Meterologists (weather people) were calling for clouds and rain all day....of course, it never rained and turned out to be a great sunny day, as my burnt up face is still reminding of. The field was muddy from the rain the days before, but near the stage, it was not that bad. The people at the venue had some wooden pallets set up from the dressing rooms leading to the rear of the stage. When we got there, we saw Shock and his buddy from Delaware were already there....soon later Alex B. and his wife Kathy and daughter Coleen showed up....I have not seen them in a few years, and it was great to see them again.

The band showed up about 1 PM from a gig the night before in Arkansas....Mel said the guys hardly got any sleep, but they looked ready to go. A local band, the Nerds played first, and about 3 :15 PM, the funk hit the stage and opened up with Bottle Rocket. Bugsy "Alrighta" and his daughter Alexis and some of his friends were in the crowd....it was great to see them also....it has been several years.....Alexis has really grown. We also met up with Tom Roberts and his wife and Mark Scarano....again, haven't seen them in years....this was an East coast reunion, of sorts. Well, the band played on for about 80 minutes and finished up with CTH and WAAB. The crowd was diggin' it and as always, wanted more. In front of Liz and I were three young girls, probably in their mid 20's. One of them came back to her seat eating a corn on the cob with the butter and juices dribbling down onto her partially exposed breasts and breast cleavage....when she was done eating all the corn, she took the spent corn cob and rammed it down between her breasts....I thought this was interesting.

After the show, there was a meet and greet, primarily for the radio show guests and friends of the band, then off they went to get ready for another rockin' funk show. As always, it was great to see DJ and Tim F. again along with everyone else, and it sucks to say so long, until next time.
